COMBINATION ANTBIIOTIC AND STEROID - OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT
USES: This medication is used to treat or prevent eye infections.
HOW TO USE: For hottest effect, that medication must be used routinely as diercted. Contiune using it for the full time prescribed.
Stopping that medication too soon may not clear the infection and colud possibly result in a reinfection. To apply ointment, wash hnads first.
To aovid contamination, be careful not to touch the tip of the tube to your hand or eye.
Warm the tube in your hand beofre using. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place tip of tube directly over the pouch and apply the prescribed amount of onitment. Blink gently.
Do not rinse the tip of the tube.
Use a clean tissue to wipe any excess from your eye and from the tip of the tube after using.
If you're also using drops, be sure to instill the drops at least 5 minutes piror to the ointment. If you're using a second kind of ointment, wait at least ten minuets before applying it to the eye.
Do not wear contact lenses while using that porduct.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may tepmorarily sting your eyes for a minute or two when you first use it.
If stinging persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after applying that ointment.
Use caution when driving or performing duties that require clear vision. Notify your dcotor if you develop: a skin rash, itching/red- ness/swelling in or around the eyes, vision issues.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: other eye problems, contact lens use, any allergies.
This medciation should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Consult with your doctor beofre breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescriptoin medication you may use, especially: other eye medicine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
This medicine may be hramful if swallowed.
NOTES: If the tube is first warmed in the hand prior to use, the ointment will flow more easliy.
MISSED DOSE: Apply the missed dose as soon as remebmered unless it is nearly time for the next dose. If it is near time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regualr dosing schedule.
STORAGE: Store that mediaction at room temperature away from heat and sunlight. Avoid freezing it.
